Wool, or Why Don't Sheep Shrink?

When I was at Market I ordered some wool.  I love wool--the colors are so vibrant and rich and the texture is great.  I don't do a lot of projects with wool, but I have loved the ones I have done.  So when I saw this wool, well,  I couldn't resist.

So yesterday my order arrived.  Luscious, deep rich color.  Isn't it great?  I am using some of this for a few kits.  The rest of it is just to add to my stash--or for inspiration.  I'll come up with some way to use it, I'm sure.

I should have mentioned before that this wool is from Mary Flanagan Woolens.  You can check out all her hand-dyed wool textures here.

This kit is for "Overture,"  a wall hanging from my book.  The piecing is all cotton, but the applique in the center is wool.

Another project from my book using wool is this little runner, "Patio Tiles."  It is all wool with a cotton backing and binding.  I don't have any kits of this one because I used wools from my closet! (And I don't have any more.)
Do you like working with wool?  Do you have any wool projects in the works? Maybe you can look into trying some wool soon.  Have a great weekend.

I just brought some wool last weekend for the first time. I'm fascinated by all the beautiful and brightly-colored projects I've seen using wool. Plus, I've been told it hand sews like a dream.

P.S. I love what you bought!

I just felted some wool today - a plaid jacket that I bought for $2! I have some patterns and hope to get something started to work on soon. My collection of wool is getting bigger & bigger. I have made a few pincushions, but now I want to make a table runner.

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours these days, yet I by no means found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is beautiful value enough for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will probably be a lot more useful than ever before.

Jill, I have a question about holiday lane. People are asking to buy my version of your pattern from the blog hop, I've told them I could NOT sell something that was given to me free and not even my design. But would you mind if I put it out there on my blog as a Free PDF for anyone that wants it? I will also include pics of you original with a link back to your shop. You can see what I did at beetreedesigns.blogspot.com. The nov 29 post. Please let me know. Thanks, Cyndi
