Christmas Threads

The other day, and new shipment of Aurifil arrived.   My thread collection has been flying out of here.  I have just added it to my website so you can order it there.  The large collection has 12 spools of Everyday Colors, each spool is 1422 yards.  The small collection has 10 spools of 220 yards.  They are  both 100% long staple Egyptian cotton--50 wt--made in Italy.  I think it is the finest thread in the quilting industry.  I can't use anything else!  They make a great Gift, so I think I will put them on sale for this month--20% off!!  My EVERYDAY COLORS are a collection of thread colors that compliment my fabric lines from Henry Glass.

Speaking of Henry Glass, remember that we had that fun blog hop with the HG designers--well, they awarded a grand prize to one of the readers, and I was able to package up all the fabrics and send them off to her.  I thought you might like to see a picture of the Grand Prize.  It was HUGE.  I had to get a large firewood basket to hold all the fabric!  I think she will be very happy to receive it.  Stay tuned to the HG blog, because there will be more events coming next year!

I am still busy with catch up on some deadlines and orders.  But between it all here and there I am trying to get ready for Christmas.  I have done just a few things around the house, but I will eventually get everything done.  I did the mantel and stockings because JoJo was just begging to hang stockings.

I hung up some samples, and he is happy.  I still have to really hang all the family stockings, but we will do that downstairs when I get around to it.  Technically, it doesn't have to be done until Dec 24, right?

Another easy thing to do was to change the quilt on the sofa back to a Christmas quilt.   Check.  Done with that.

And I did a table centerpiece arrangement with my glass jars.  It was quick because I just used what I had hanging around here.  I used an old garland to drape the chandelier and added a chain of snowflakes.  Then I brought in the jars and shined them up to add that sparkle.  I filled them with candies or cranberries.

I love floating cranberries and a candle in a clear vase.  It is so pretty.  And the rest of it is snack-able!  Yum.

Gee, look how much candy is missing, and I just did this on Saturday.  I tried to buy candy that is pretty but no one likes to eat.  But then I saw the Andies Mints, and thought they would look nice.  Humm.  Need a refill.

I still haven't cut the snowflakes, but I will get around to it later this week when I have finished a few other pressing projects.  (literally-both ways)  Have a busy and fun week!
Jill

Speaking of missing candy. I had a bag from the grocery store on the counter tied shut because it was for stocking stuffers. WELL.. DH who "doesn't eat sweets" decided to open the bag and then between him and DS it was a free for all! I came into the kitchen and found the Snickers gone, and the next bag pretty much a loss. I had to go back to the store and buy again! MEN!!!

In life expect to have down days, expect to be caught up in drama you don't want to be in and definitely expect to be heartbroken. Take it as it comes, you're strong enough to get through.
