Christmas Past

Hello folks.  It's a new year and time to get going.  I am getting caught up after being out of it during the holidays.  I just needed a little break, even if I couldn't spare the time.  It was a nice holiday and fun time spent with my family.  I hope you had a great time, too.  I need to quickly recap the Christmas events, just for myself.  I managed to get Christmas dinner done and sew pajamas for the Grands on Christmas Eve.  Nothing like waiting until the last minute!  Good thing there is only one girl.  Aren't they a cute bunch!

We are so blessed with a wonderful, fun, happy family.  Love them all so much--they are so good to me and I am so proud of all of them.

After dinner we had a wonderful Nativity pageant.  Joseph and Mary were so good.  I've never seen them sit so still for so long.  It was a wonderful evening.  That was about the only "still" part.  I couldn't even get a picture when the angels and shepherds and wise men arrived.  Maybe next year...
The girls all went to the Nutcracker together earlier in the season.   That is a fun family tradition.
And of course, we had our Gingerbread Houses Party--hosted by Jordan, as usual.

There were many other days filled with events and traditions and busy, busy, life.  But that is over now and we will do it all again next year because we are a family, and that is what we do.

Since Christmas, I have been busy sewing on a special project for a friend.  It is a surprise, so no big details here, but you can get the idea.  This applique was so much fun.  I really enjoyed it.
I was really worried about all the lettering and small pieces, but it really turned out nice.  I don't have a decent photo, but that's OK, since I really shouldn't show you now anyway.  I will show you the whole thing when we are all done and the cat is out of the bag, so to speak.

I show you this just to prove to you that I have done something in my sewing room since the holidays!  Oh, and by the way, my daughters were here the other day and cleaned up the whole studio, so it is ready to go with all the new stuff for the coming year.  I can't wait! Thanks, girls!

Wow - that's a lot of pants fast! And I love your lettering applique. Sounds like you have a lot of fun Christmas traditions; it'[s great to read about them and see pictures.
