My Friend Jacquelynne

One of the best things about being a designer in the quilting industry is getting to meet and spend time with so many talented and fun people.  Jacquelynne Steves is a friend of mine and a fellow Henry Glass Designer.  Her fabrics are so sweet--they all come from her hand-painted illustrations in her one-of-a-kind style.  You can see her latest line, Apple Blossom Acres here.

Now Jacquelynne has brought that style to a new book she has written and illustrated for Kansas City
Star (another thing we have in common).  This book is a treasure!

Fruitful Hands is the perfect title.
Jacquelynne is hosting a Book Blog Tour this week to showcase the new book.  You will want to visit her blog because there are prizes each day!!

It is so fun to see not only all the great designs but the whole book is illustrated by Jacquelynne.  It is filled with wonderful projects in stitchery, wool, quilting, AND yummy recipes.

Here's one of the stitchery projects, Fruit of the Spirit.  Isn't that covered mat a good idea?  You could use any of your favorite fabrics to highlight your stitchery, and the instructions for covering the mat are included, too.

Here's another page with an enticing recipe.  I happen to love cranberry sauce, so  I bet I will love this Blueberry Chutney too!  I can't wait to try it on a home-made roll spread with cream cheese and layered high with chunks of roasted turkey.  Makes me hungry just thinking of it!

I really think Jacquelynne can be proud of this book, and I know you will love it too.  You can find it at quilt shops and on the web.  If you want to order it from Jacquelynne, here's the link to her site.

Now remember to visit the rest of the Blog Book Tour, here's the schedule:

Monday: Brenda Riddle of Acorn Quilt and Gift Company
              Jill Finley of Jillily Studio
Tuesday: Pat Sloan of, well, everything!
Wednesday: Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches
Thursday: Michele Foster of The Quilting Gallery
Friday: Sandi Andersen of A Legacy of Stitches

There are prizes to be won every day, so hop on over!  And in the spirit of prize giving, I think I will give one away, too.  So make a comment here and I will send you a free pattern--how about "Meadow?"
I will choose a winner tomorrow and let you know...  But you will need to be a follower, and leave a comment on this post.

PS.  I have some great things to post about this week, so be sure to come back often!!!!!

Thanks for the alert about what looks to be a lovely new book! I'm heading over there next, but wanted to leave you a comment since I love that Meadow pattern :) I hardly ever make quilts with only a few colors (I'm more of a rainbow kind of girl) but this one's just lovely!
