The Jillily Ballet Studio

Well I am home again from another Quilt Market in Houston.  Market is a feast for the eyes with so much creativity that it is overwhelming!

We had a big job to do in setting up my double booth and the Henry Glass 4-booth space.  But fortunately I had my sister Margaret with me.  She is an awesome helper and a very talented quilter, too.  I couldn't have done this without her!  Thanks, Marg!

Our booth theme this Market was from my new fabric collection, "TWIRL."
(see it here at the Henry Glass website.)

Here is "Twirl" displayed as fabric bolts (its really paper, since I don't have fabric yet.)  It is a cute little ballet group in pink, gray, and green. So of course, my booth was a ballet studio!

Complete with a mirrored wall, wood floors and a ballet barre.   Of course there were dancers, too.  The little ones were the best, but sometimes there were other dancers as well!

In case you had forgotten the basic ballet positions, there were stickers on the floor to guide you!

Our demo station was fixed up with all the great Jillily products, including my new products--

introducing the Appli-Glue MINI!!

The Mini is just a 1/2oz of glue in a small bottle with a dropper cap.  Quilters have been asking me for a smaller size bottle for a long time.  We finally have it!

It is perfect for travel and putting in your sewing kit, using with wool and for classes.

The dropper cap is not as precise as the pink taper tip you are familiar with on our regular Appli-Glue, and if you need that precision,
you can purchase a "Precision Tip Assembly" to go on the mini bottle!

The lid is sized for the smaller bottle, and it accepts the pink precision tip.

The perfect combination!

These items are now available on my website.

I have a few new patterns, too.  These cute little ballerinas will dance their way into your heart.  The embroidery is simple and quick. Add a bit of fabric for a border and they will soon be on the walls of your favorite dancer.  The pattern will be on my website in the next few weeks.

I used embroidery floss for the stitching.  Aurifil makes a 6-strand floss on wooden spools!  I didn't know that before, but it sure is nice!

Looking at the booth from the other end you can see my new quilt, "Bows and Toes" on the wall, "Ballet Bag" hanging below it, and the cute little "TuTu Tuffet."  All of these patterns will be available soon on my website.

On the wall at the far end is "California Dreamin," which you have already seen, and next to it is the new "Poppy Patio" quilt.  This one is from a free pattern available for download on the Henry Glass website or on my website.

I almost forgot to tell you about my little freebies.  I gave away jars of jam.  That was to remind the shop owners that I have a new collection of basics fabrics.  They will be available any time and will coordinate with all the other Jillily fabric collections.

My "Jams and Jellies" Collection is starting out with pieces that coordinate with the "Twirl" line.  So there are pinks, greens, grays, blacks, and whites in this first group.  The next release will add more colors and more patterns.  This is going to be awesome!   You can see them at the Henry Glass website.

That's all for now.  I will be choosing a winner from the last post contest tomorrow.  I'll let you know, so keep your fingers crossed!

LOVE your booth and LOVE your work! Ballet is so dear to my heart - been a little ballerina myself many years ago, my daughter did it too and now...maybe a granddaughter some day?
Can't wait to see that cute fabric line and those little embroideries you did might just make me do one, finally!! :)
Thanks for sharing!
