DECORATIONS

Many of you know my handicapped son, Jordan.  He is a delight.  He is considered non-verbal, but he can say a few words and makes all kinds of noises.  JoJo (we like to call him) is 25, but functions about like a 2 to 3 year old.  He loves parties!  Everyday you can find him busily decorating for some holiday because it might involve a party.  Currently we are trying to keep him happy just WAITING for Halloween so that he isn't Trick-or-Treating too early.  Well, yesterday I told him that my friends were coming over to see us.  He was so excited.  He unloaded the dishwasher and "cleaned up" the kitchen. (I will find my silverware later.)  I went into the sewing room to work.  I saw him out of the corner of my eye taking a vase full of water out the front door.  So I secretly watched him as he carefully arranged his collection of stick ghosts in the vase and set it on the cart by the front door.  (I'm not sure why the water--maybe he hopes they will grow.)  Then he sat on the chair and waited for Natalie and Debra to arrive.

I opened the front door to comment on his lovely addition to the porch.  He looked at me and said, "BOO."  That is not unusual, it is one of his best words.  But what he said next was amazing, he added, "BOO -Kay!"  It was most certainly a fluke, but what a perfect name for his creation!  Hope you enjoy this photo of a Boo-Kay.
