"A Princess!!"

Jeepers, I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted!  I kept trying to get to it, but my life took over!  I have been very busy with the post-market scramble, and to add to that, my daughter is getting married, so we have been doing all of that fun stuff.  The thing is,  much of it is really urgent and the time-line is so important to get everything planned, printed, stamped, and arranged.  So those of you who are waiting for the "easy bias vines" post, keep watching, I will get to it, eventually!

For now, I can quickly share a few pics of the bridal photo shoot we had yesterday.  (So you believe me that this is really true.)   These are just some shots I took of the "shoot," so they are definitely not professional, just some candid looks.

Hi Andrea!  Talia's cousin came to help out--holding a branch out of the way.
Our photographer took us to Wheeler Farm to get some shots of Talia and Riley all dressed up and ready to be married.  What a beautiful day!!  They booth looked so great!  I got a little teary watching them see each other for the first time in wedding attire.

The main reason I wanted to share a little of this with you is because of this spontaneous moment--I thought you would like it.  While we were walking to set up another portrait, a little girl (who was there with her family) came running toward Talia, saying, (squealing)

"A princess, a princess!"

She was so excited to meet "Princess Talia!"

She came right up and gave her a hug!

Talia let her hold the flowers, but she just wanted to play.
"Come play with me, Princess!"

Tali tried to introduce her Prince, but the little girl was uninterested in him.  Aren't kids the best?!  So genuine and unrestrained.  This little girl's family was so apologetic, but I loved it.  It was priceless.

And, after all, my Talia really does look like a Princess, doesn't she?
I'm so proud of her, she is beautiful INSIDE and out!
And just to close, my final advice for the day... you can't have a great outfit without great shoes!

Have a happy day!

  2. Jill, Congratulations to your daughter and her new husband. I love that first picture! It looks almost surreal. So just answer this one question...she wore the beautiful pink shoes for her wedding or the white flip-flops that I caught a glimpse of as she was being hugged by the little girl?! lol That story was great. Thanks for sharing.

  15. She is so beautiful and radiant in her wedding dress. The little girl has a dream to be the very princess your Talia is. Enjoy this time with your wedding planning and let the blog wait. I am sure all will understand.

  17. Hi,
I'm your newest follower. I think your blog is lovely and I can't wait to go through it all when I have a little more time. I must tell you your daughter is just beautiful, and the story about the little girl and the pictures of it nearly made me cry. Funny how in life the little, simple, sweet things that you could never "make" happen are the ones that mean the most. So touching. Tell your daughter I wish her a wonderful wedding and a wonderful, happy life. And lots of little princesses to make grandma very happy!
Please come visit me at my new blog, Ric Rac and Polka Dots. I am just starting out, but I have lots of fun things planned to share with everyone! So nice to meet you. I hope to see you soon!

  18. That is one great post! Talia really does look like a princess right out of the story books... she is beautiful just like her mom. Love the dress... adore the shoes... but nothing is quite as sweet as that little girl hugging her... a dream come true for her. She will grow up and tell her kids... I played with a real princesss when I was little!

  21. Congratulations to your daughter and her prince. Taking some photos in advance was a wonderful idea. It gives the couple more time to actually enjoy their wedding day. She is a beautiful bride. I love the red shoes.
When I was growing up (during the time of the Wooly Mammoths, long before there were so many Disney princesses), little girls loved to dress up as brides and would have been as thrilled to see a bride as this little girl was to see a princess.
